'Eli' Figure
'Eli' Figure
Kay’s work creates bold silhouettes with contemporary subject matters and decorative techniques. Her work references folklore and nostalgia in juxtaposition with modern culture. Kay lived in Stockholm for a couple of years and the aesthetic of the country remains to inspire her. Now Kay resides in the seaside city of Brighton, East Sussex and she is inspired by the bustle of the city along with the old folklore tales that lie deep in the East Sussex countryside.
These small scale hand sculpted figurines are made by Kay in Brighton, East Sussex. Each of these characterful pieces are hand modelled and painted with a design in black underglaze. Once bisque fired the pieces are then glazed in shiny transparent glaze and refired to 1180C.
These figures are ideal for decorative purposes to adorn your shelves.
